The Revelation
Ludwig Drum Company reached out for a promo to launch Jon Theodore’s (Queens of the Stone Age) signature snare drum - The Revelation.
I designed, animated, and directed the film with the goal of capturing Jon’s explosive energy and the raw personality of the instrument through motion, rhythm, and texture. The piece takes a surreal, mythic approach, with a palette of deep blues, burnt oranges, and metallic highlights – echoing both the thunder of Jon’s playing and the craftsmanship behind the snare.
A cutout character journeys through a stylised 3D world, adding a playful, slightly comical edge that balances the intensity with personality. The result is a short film that feels both epic and full of character.
